You won't believe how romantic this adventurous elopement in the Adirondack High Peaks was...
Honestly, I don’t even know where to start with this one.
Kelsey and Matt reached out to me only back in January about photographing their elopement in the Adirondack High Peaks. In their inquiry form, they told the story of how they forged their relationship while living in a van in New Zealand (one of my favorite places),and requested my birthday as their elopement date – so I knew us working together was meant to be.
From meeting whilst traveling across Thailand, to requesting one of the Adirondack high peaks as their ceremony location, these two just ooze adventure in every way.
Being the wild bohemian she is at heart, Kelsey chose an unconventional (and stunning) red gown for their elopement ceremony, and stopped at nothing to ensure her florals for the day were all native plants. Rather than hiring any florist to create her bouquet and reception decor, Kelsey inquired with a local native nursery who was kind enough to supply the pair with buckets of native greenery to play with.
They asked their closest friend and traveling buddy, Aaron, to officiate their mountain-top ceremony, and spent the remainder of the day between a private boat tour of Lake Placid and a home-cooked meal back at their A-Frame Airbnb. Rather than catering food from any restaurant, Kelsey and Matt took things took things one step further and hired a private chef to prepare them a wildly delicious vegan meal and cake for dessert. Matt brought some of his family’s wine, which everyone took turns toasting with.
No detail went unnoticed, and every decision made was with intention and purpose. I could go on all day with how beautiful this Adirondack mountain elopement was, but I’ll stop here and let the photos tell the rest of the story.
Kelsey and Matt – I can’t tell you how much I cherish you. Both you and your day will forever hold a place in my heart.
Kelsey and Matt wanted a wedding video that felt organic and summarized how the day truly looked and felt without too much production or editing – my personal favorite type of wedding video. So, I packed up my Super8 gear and created a highlight film using real film and sound recordings from the day. I love how all the emotions of the day came through, and cannot wait to offer more film packages in the future?
Wanting film for your own wedding day? I am now offering Super8 packages to add onto any of my photography packages! Inquire for more details.
