Wedding at the Lockstone

When Madison and Eli first reached out to me to photograph their wedding at the Lockstone, I felt eager but most of all honored. I first met them when photographing their engagement photos at Chittenango Falls, and immediately fell in love with their gentle humor and calming presence. The love and friendship they share with one another is admirable and inspiring to say the least, and I knew right away their wedding day would be no exception.

From beginning to end, the entire wedding day felt warm and intimate. Madison and Eli did an incredible job making sure every detail chosen felt meaningful and purposeful. Everything from their invitations (which the bride created herself), to Madison’s heirloom jewelry, to wood fired pizza for dinner – every decision made allowed their personalities to shine through.

Even the venue they chose, The Lockstone in Albion, NY, felt like the perfect place to celebrate their marriage. The building itself has a cozy loft-style bridal suite where Madison and her bridesmaids got ready, as well as another private loft located above the dance floor where the couple shared their first look while overlooking the Erie Canal. After their first look, I asked Madison and Eli if they wanted to sneak into the onsite ice cream parlor next door for a few photo – it was the perfect place to watch the rain fall while soaking in these last few minutes before their ceremony.

Their ceremony was held at the Lockstone’s forest across the stress. Luckily, the rain paused just long enough for everyone to sit beneath the trees as the couple exchanged their vows. It was Madison’s dream to get married in a forest, and the presence of rain only added to the romantic charm.

I am so grateful to have been asked to photograph such a beautiful day for an even more beautiful couple.
